Abstract: With the advent of digital computers, most of the construction organizations are fully equipped to make a change over from manual based project planning and scheduling to computer aided project scheduling. Using such facilities, the project manager now in a position to interactively schedule with the use of suitable software. The network techniques have revolutionized the concept of project management while managing the project by conventional methods, the status of the project cannot be assessed at different stages. Network based project management keeps the management informed of every stage details of the project. However, the network-based control of project requires enormous data handling. So, it is not possible to do network based project control without using computers. Keeping this in view, the present work is an effort to develop a user friendly comprehensive software package for scheduling of projects using CPM network techniques. The software is capable of performing the task of time, calendar and the resource scheduling. The data can be entered either in the interactive mode through terminal or from a pre-edited data file. Several data checks have been incorporated to ensure correctness of data. Further an actual case study has been carried out and presented in a specific format.
