Issue Date: 2000
Abstract: Much effort has been dedicated over recent years to the development of computational models for the non-linear analysis of reinforced concrete plate system. The present work, non linear analysis of RC plates has been carried out using finite element method in which a nine-noded lagrangian element is used. Mindlin's assumptions taking into account the shear deformations have been followed during finite element formulation. Variable properties through the thickness have been taken using discrete layered approach. The present work deals with behaviour of simply supported plate and corner supported plate under different conditions. The effect of tension stiffening has been assessed based on analysis of simply supported plate. Non linear techniques and the effect of accelerating and damping techniques have also been discussed and compared.
