Abstract: Gaseous pollutants are one of the major cause of air pollution. In order to maintain ambient air quality standard, it is essential to remove these pollutants from the effluent gas streams before emission in atmosphere. In the present work an interactive package has been developed for the design of packed absorption tower for removal of gaseous pollutants from the effluent gas stream. The package has been written in 'C' language. All the input and output data are iri SI units. The package has been tested for a given set of datas obtained from the available literature and the performance of the package has been validated by comparing the results of the package output with those from available literature. Cost analysis has not been included in the present design. the package is user friendly and has options to give input data set from a life unit or keyboard. The present package has been developed to serve as an efficient design for a packed absorption tower for gaseous pollutant control.
