Abstract: Literature on force due to baffle blocks and end sills indicates that with the increase in the blockage ratio, the resistive force will monotonically increase. However, such observations are based on a blockage ratio range of 0 to 0.574. In this study, the effect of blockage ratio on force due to baffle blocks arranged in a single row has been studied. The blockage ratio has been varied from 0 to 1. A set of 160 runs have been collected. Processing of experimental data indicates that the use of blockage ratios in excess of one third does not lead to a significant increase in the , • that for I baffle block force. Thus, the study recommends the 'use of baffle blocks in a should „ single row), with the blockage ratio vary ' between one fourth to one third.
