Title: MODELLING OF FLOW THROUGH UNSATURATED ZONE
Authors: Singh, Jagpal
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;FLOW MODELLING;UNSATURATED ZONE;GROUND SURFACE
Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: In this study flow through the unsaturated zone extending from ground surface to the water table is simulated by numerical solution of one dimensional Richard's equations. The numerical solution is obtained by finite differences and Picard iterations. The simulation is carried out for two soils i.e. Yolo light Clay and Loam sand. The simulation provides the moisture profile at the pre-selected discrete time and the recharge hydrograph. Further sensitivity of the computed recharge hydrograph and the moisture profiles to the parameters of the soil characteristics has been studied
