Abstract: Static converters have lead to a revolutionary change in the field of the induction motor control, These static converter devices produce such types of output which are rich in harmonics. The effect of these harmonics on, motor performances be not favourable. The motor currents and loss. increase, in significant amount. The induction motor performance is ,deteriorated due to the increase in the losses. Then it becomes essential to investigate the performance of the induction motor with these supplies. In the present work, the induction motor performance is calculated with both sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal. In the non-sinusoidal supplies the stepped voltage source inverters and different PWM techniques are used. A comparison between the performances obtained by both type of supplies is investigated
