Abstract: The growing interest in energy saving especially in industrial applications has led to explore in more details the potential of . unconventional excitation system for electric machines. The PM motor has the potential to replace the induction and wound field commutator motor in a number of industrial, commercial and domestic variable speed drive are based largely on its energy saving capability. The use of the permanent magnet in the rotor of the PM motor makes it unnecessary to supply magnetizing current through the stator for constant air gap flux. The stator current needs to be only torque producing. Hence for the same output the PM motor will operate at higher power factor and will be more efficient than conventional motors. The dynamic performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive fed through a current hysteresis controlled voltage source inverter (VSI) is investigated. First, the mathematical modeling of machine and control assembly is described, then a numerical simulation of this assembly is presented. To simulate the PMSM drive system step by step algorithm is proposed and presented in form of flow chart in this dissertation work and discussed.
