dc.description.abstractA Brain Computer Interface is a communication system in which messages or commands that an individual sends to the external world do not pass through the brain's normal output pathways of peripheral nerves and muscles. Mental activity leads to changes in EEG (Electroencephalogram) signal, which are detected by the BCI and are transformed into a control signal. The aim of the BCI is to improve the life style of the persons with severe disabilities. The other usage of BCI is in designing and evaluating hand free control i.e. EEG signals are recorded that allows communication with the computers while the operator's hands remained engaged in other activities. In nut shell, the effort is to create methods of BCI that leads to more effective control of the real world applications. Here in our work we have recorded the changes in EEG pattern taking place due to the variation in the intensity, frequency and location of the click (Auditory stimulus) produced near the ear of the subject. Also changes due to the eye events are noted. These changes are then evaluated and are used to further generate a control action. The control is switching on and Off of LED's attached to a PC via hardware cable. Software is developed to identify the changes and to use them for further control action.en_US
