In this dissertation, apart from the conventional representation with linear approximations and its analysis to obtain values of system parameters for the system to be absolutely stable using Nyquist criterion, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of changing a component from linear to non-linear. The possibility of non-linearities in Ball-heads and hydraulic servomotor are explored, keeping in view their principle and actual performances, and simple Dead band, Dead band with saturation and saturation type non linearities in ball heads and Dead band in servomotor are selected for investigation. For the analysis, the Describing function technique has been utilized retaining only one non.. linearity at a timeen_US
