dc.description.abstractThe transient behaviour of synchronous machines has been studied by various authors, by using different concepts, to arrive at the results. The present thesis aims at finding out a unified and comprehensive method for the analysis of the transients of a synchronous generator t„ The analysis has been carried out for a) sudden switching on or off of any type of balanced loads. b) sudden switching on or off of unbalanced loads or faults. Another method has been presented in this thesis for the analysis of single phase loads and faults only. Experiments are done to compare the results obtained from tests and calculationsen_US
