Issue Date: 2013
Abstract: The present research work is concerned with the study and model development of modified resins. Mainly these resins are ion exchange resins which are modified through the gas phase nitration technique. In these nitration techniques mainly NOx gas is used and this NOx gas is very good for making the modified resin. Here two main ion exchange resin are taken for the kinetic model development, the exchange capacity of the different resins PMMA-EGDM and PS-EGDM are taken from two different papers, these paper give the information of exchange capacity of two different polymer resins at different temperature and time and with the use of these paper development of the mathematical model for the determination of rate constant is done. Both the model are developed at two different orders of the reaction and the model, for determination of rate constant give a very similar result to the experimental value given in the paper.
