Issue Date: 1990
Abstract: An optimal design method for FIR filters is proposed. In FIR filters MAXFLAT filters class is selected. Bernstein polynomial mapping approach is used to search the optimal order of filter and required flatness at w = 0 and w = Recurrence relations of Bernstein polynomial are used which saves computation time. Explicit expressions for computation of coefficients of low pass filters are tried here. The algorithms to transform low pass coefficients into high pass, band pass and band rejection are proposed. The filters designed by this method are compared with that designed by conventional methods. V
