Authors: Chowdhury, Niladri
Keywords: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING;DYNAMIC SIMULATION;POWER SYSTEM;POWER SYSTEM SIMULATOR
Issue Date: 1989
Abstract: A power system simulator is a simulation package for electrical generation, transmission and distri - bution systems. The software provides an environment for the development and testing of err-line analysis and control algorithms, and also has potential for application in operator training. Dynamic and alge - braic models of power system elements are described. Numerical techniques are used which helps in obtai - ning solutions with acceptable accuracy for medium sized networks using micro computer hardware. The stability or the system under emergency conditions are observed and recorded. A power system example taken comprising of 93 buses has been consi - dered for this purpose. The software has been written in the FORTRAN language.
