Abstract: | The dissertation deals with the design, performance analysis and experimental studies of a microprocessor controlled load commutated inverter fed single-phase induction motor drive. In this sch^me single-phase ac supply is converted into variable dc supply using a fully control. led rectifier and fed to load commutated inverter . Commutation of inverter thyristors is achieved using termihal capacitor which is charged by back emf of motor. Speed of drive is controlled by varying capacitor Ye*lUe in open loop control and by varying current through thyristor' Controlled inductor in closed loop control . The whole work of dissertation has been catagorised as introduction, description of the system, system software implementationvperformance analysis of the drive, performance . of close loop system and conclusions and suggestions for further work . In chapter 1, introduction and literature survey is given. In chapter 2, system hardware is described . Chapter 3 deals with system software implementation . Chapter 4 deals with performance analysis of the drive in open loop control . In chapter 5 , experimental performance of the drive in closed loop control is discussed . In chapter 6 , ma in conlusions and suggestions for further work are given . |
