As the demand of mobile communication increases the mobile user want that they can communicate independent of their location and mobility. For tracking mobile users and route call to them, the signaling traffic incurred causes an additional load in the network. Presently two schemes are used for tracking mobile users; Broadcast and Forwarding Pointer scheme. In the broadcast scheme when user is not moving faster the signaling cost required increases, and in forwarding pointer scheme as user moves faster the signaling cost required increases. In this dissertation a combined scheme is proposed which is combination of two. schemes, which adaptively switches to one according to the mobility pattern. Simulation is done in Java2 under Red Hat Linux 6.1, and it shown that the signaling cost required for combined scheme is lessen_US
