Issue Date: 1984
Abstract: With the advancement of digital computer technologythe microprocessor based systems are being used in every field. Advent of microprocessor based systems in the field of operat -ions research is not new. The main objective of this dissertation is to acquire the complete understanding of the microprocessor system and it's application to the inventory problem. Chapter 1, deals with briefing of 8085A up. based system HIL-2961. Chapter 2,conta.ins the details of basic inventory model, and it's implementation to the microprocessor. To have proper communication arith a communicating device, the peripheral devices such as CRTor TTY are to be interfaced with it. Chapter 3, has all the necessary interfacing deta.i is. Data handling algorithms are discussed in Chapter 4. Cash register , a ver., important feature in inventory modelling is detailed in Chapter 5. Some software implemented commands are developed to provide the facility to the user to ccmmmunicate effectively with the system. Listing of user programmes implementing such commands and system operating procedure is discussed in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7.
