The increas. ing performance required of modern protection is reaching the limits of capability of electronocha. noel relays# and practical development of static protection with higher p+erformanc. and greater potentiality is becoming increasingly necessary, This dissertation is an attempt to develop a proto type static single phase distance relay, Mho type with direct phase coparison technique. The development with basic construction of static relays have been reviewed . The relmh static and dynamic performance have been described.
