Abstract: Uptil now most of the works on solid rotor induction motors have beerybarried out in a linear, isotropic and hyste-resis-free medium. In the present. work, an attempt has been made to account for these three factors. So this work has been considered in three parts. In the first part,an attempt has been made to evaluate the impedance of an infinite half space of a solid iron block by taking into account only the presence of non-linear-ity(only) in the magnetising characteristics of the material. Mathematical expressions for flux, voltages etc. have been obtained. In the second part,a solid rotor induction motor has been theoretically analysed taking into account the presence of hysteresis. Various mathematical expressions for voltage, currents, etc. in different cases have been obtained. Then in the last part'an attempt has been made to analyse a solid rotor induction motor in a non-isotropic medium. Different cases have been considered and various mathematical expressions have been obtained.
