Issue Date: 1969
Abstract: Equations, in matrix form, are written to describe the dynamic behaviours of the individual elements of a general multimachine system equipped with excitation and prime-mover controls, and linearised by the small perturbations technique. '-rom these matrix equations, a set of first order differential equations (as a state space representation of the system) []=CH]Cxl is developed. Concept of eigenvalue sensitivity is introduced and a method for determining the same is included. A scheme for designing system control-equipment by adjust-ing selected parameters, using eigenvalue sensitivities to the changes in the parameters., is suggested. A procedure, in brief, of carrying out the overall computations, with f low charts and programs for the same, is given. To illustrate the method, a system with one infin' ite bus and three machines, each machine equipped with regulator and governor, is considered.
