dc.description.abstract | Due to energy crises the developing countries had hoped that they would be able to lift their people from the depths of poverty through energy powered devices and systems. Integrated Renewable Energy Systems offer the only hope of meeting the energy requirements of the people, especially for those who are living in remote areas. Lots of work have been carried out for integrated renewable energy resources for the optimal Utilisation. Under the present study, work has been carried out for energy planning for remote area in order to meet out the demand by considering the optimal applications of renewable energy sources. The resources considered viz. Solar, Biomass, Wind and Small Hydropower energy were computed based on assumed data. On this basis, the demand of the area has been considered as lighting, cooking, heating, shaft motive power and irrigation for agriculture. Models- for various demand have been developed. The minimum optimum unit cost have been computed and compared. Lighting model for summer and winter show similar trends and so do Cooking (summer & winter) and also Heating and Irrigation models. Maximum variation has been observed for the Shaft Motive power where the unit cost of energy is affected widely as system parameter is changed. | en_US |
