Abstract: Simulation studies of multireservoir system in Gumara river is an attempt to study the feasibility of the proposed projects in the river basin and to transfer the skill of system analysis study to Ethiopia. The Gumara river consists of 12 reservoirs and one diversion weir. The system has got four irrigable areas and 12 hydropower stations. Simulation was carried out with the help of random sampling fet- 34 years of data. Several trials were made to meet the project dependability requirements Simulated values were found lower than the project values. It has been found that the maximum area that can be irrigated with 75 % project success is 28,384 ha and the maximum energy that can be generated with 90% success is 162,186 MWH.
