Abstract: Systems Analysis of Multi-Reservoirs in Damodar Valley Systems is an attempt to study a real-life large scale co reservoir system. It has been done applying two meths Simulation and Dynamic Programming Optimisation technique. This system consists of 5 reservoirs - TILAIYA, MA KONAR, TENUGHAT, PANCHET and the barrage at DURAGAPUR. All reservoirs are situated in Bihar. There is a proposed reservoir, atBALPAHARI. All reservoirs except Tenughat are m purpose serving Irrigation, M&I, Hydropower and flood Ce Demands. Simulation was carried out for 25 years length of off data available at different sites. Several trials were to meet dependability requirements. Simulated target values found higher than project values. DP technique gave the optimum configuration of 4 resev Balpahari and Tenughat reservoirs could not be incpuded for their project costs were not available. By reallocatinc storages of a reservoirs (Tillaiya, Maithon, Konar and Panc We could save nearly 200 crores at 1996 price level.
