Abstract: The role of ground water as an uncontaminated source of water has drawn the attraction and endeavor of a number of workers. As a result, many studies have been made to evaluate the aquifer characteristics under different geological situations using various known methods. The applicability of the relationships which have been established between hydraulic and geological properties has been attempted for the study area of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Taking in to account the properties and the parameters of hydraulic and geological flow, and the works of various researchers in this context, both direct and inverse relationships between aquifer apparent formation factor & hydraulic conductivity ; and aquifer transverse resistance and transmissivity are found to exist. The effect of water quality variation and hydraulic anisotropy in such relations has also been considered in the study. It has been observed that aquifer hydraulic conductivity can be estimated more accurately using the relation between hydraulic conductivity and formation factor/ modified aquifer resistivity rather than hydraulic transmissivity and modified transverse resistance. These relations are greatly influenced by the presence of layers of electrical equivalence and suppression in the complicated aquifer of Greater Noida.
