The greatest advance in management science has oc in its implementation to solve realworld decision pro} Optimal allocation of land and water to. obtain optimal crc pattern is also a real-world decision problem. In view of u demand for increasing agricultural production in the countr feed the growing population, attempts must be made to plan implement the optimal use of land and water in such a way maximum production per unit of water is obtained. The main aim of the present study is to find o policy for the optimal use of land and water resources resu in maximizing return and to meet food, nutritional and produ requirement of the growing population for the year 2000 in study area. Allocation of land and water for thirteen crops been determined. The constraints include water availability, availibility, amount of protein and calorie and minimum area various crops etc. Here, two techniques namely Linear Programming and programming are used for finding out the optimal allocatioi area for various crops as well as optimal allocation of water various crops. Finally sensitivity analysis has been carried to see the effect of various parameters on the result. The has been carried out for the command area of Kansabahal Irrig,, Project of Orissa state. It has a gross command area of hectare out of which 5050 hectare are culturable.en_US
