Indonesia is a-large archipelago consisting of 13,667 islands. There are eight major island group and one of the western most large island of.the Indonesian archipelago is Sumatera. The study area is located in Lampung province which is the most southern province of the Island of Sumatera. This province with a land area of 35,375.50 km2, is bounded on the. Northand Northest by the province of South Sumatera, and Bengkulu province, on. the East by Java sea, on the West by the Indian Ocean, and the. North by the Sunda straights which seperates Sumatera from Java. Runoff is that part of the precipitation as well as any other flow contribution which appear in surface streams-of either perenial or intermittent form. This is the flow collected from a drainage basin and appearing at an outlet of the basin. This is the most important hydrological parameter in the estimation of water resources which is a very complex phenomena idterlinked with numerous hydrological parameters like precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, etc. A detailed hydrological investigation in any catchment area is needed for proper and efficient water- resources management. To carry out the hydrological investigations, various methods are available, however, they have their own limitations like.the reliability of collected data of desirable period, lack of proper analysis of available data, etc.en_US
