Abstract: A. distributed parameter model using Kinematic Wave Theory has been applied to compute natural drainage responses for the left bank Ganga canal watershed located between UP. Irrigation Workshop and the U.P.Govt. Road-ways Bus Stand. S-Hydrographs have been worked out corresponding to the rainfall intensities of 2, 5 and 10 years return periods and having infinite durations. This semi-urban watershed consists of built-up areas and the open areas. The ratio of the two areas have been adopted for the year 1990 data which was obtained from the Construction Division of the University of Roorkee. The same ratio is adopted for the city area for which the details were not available. For the above input rainfall functions, the abstraction rate was taken as 20% for pervious areas and 5% for impervious areas. The runoff computations were also carried out for the different values of overland roughness that is 0.25, 0.30 and 0.40.
