Change in Land-use and Geomorphological features have great impact-on economic and social development of a region. The conventional methods of collecting data are time consuming and uneconomical. Aerial photographs have been used for these purposes since the 1940's and a new era opened in 1970's with the availability of Landsat data products, with their synoptic coverage, low cost and easy availability in multi-temporal, multi-spectral and multi-stage modes. In the present study visual interpretation method has been used taking shape, tone, texture, pattern and location as the main image characteristics. Roorkee and its surrounding area lying in U.P. and some parts of Haryana have been selected as the study area, to prepare the Land-use and Geomorphological. maps from Landsat imageries. Square-Grid sheet has been used to convert these maps into GIS Data bases and to print the Alpha-numeric Symbols maps as well as to compute the area of each Landuse and Geomorphologic category. These changes have been compared with the help of graphical representation, by which the percentage changes can be easily evaluated.en_US
