dc.description.abstract | Hydrologic data of sufficiently long duration is essen-tial for better decision in planning, design, and operation of water resources projects for optimum developement. However, such long hydrologic record is generally not available for this pur-pose. Runoff data for example, is usually short to give a basis for precise judgement of water availability. The objective of this study is to analyse the daily, 10--daily, monthly, and annual runoff of 9 years data from 1972-30 of river Narmada at Jamtara. In this study, firstly time series have been analysed by stationary parametric approach. The study indicates the ab-sence of trend in observed data. To describe periodicity, six or less than six harmonics are sufficient as studied. Six, four and three harmonics are selected for daily., 10•-daily and monthly series respectively. Depending on the determination coefficients, :mil and AR2 model ar '. "wused for separating independent stochastic components. The independent components have: not follow any probability distribution (as studied. Synthetic sequence for 50 years are generated with Ai 1 and AR2 models and better result is obtained from ?.R1 model. | en_US |
