The goal of this thesis is to obtain a Compact Broadband antenna design centered at 2.4 GHz. To obtain this goal, two approaches have been tried. In first approach, coaxial cable feed slit loaded triangular antenna was optimized and designed. Both computed and experimental results have been presented in detail for study of effects of various parameters on broadbanding . The Bandwidth obtained computationally and experimentally is 16.8% and 13.8% respectively. Second approach deals with electromagnetic coupling with same feed and without slits. The resonant frequency is also kept at 2.4 GHz. It has been found computationally that maximum bandwidth obtained can be 15.06% centered at 2.4 GHz. Comparing the bandwidth we find that capacitive loading is giving a bit less bandwidth with more complicated structure. Hence, slit loading is a better choiceen_US
