dc.description.abstract | System analysis plays the role of interdisciplinary activity and hence exerts tremendous influence on almost all disciplines such as engineering, economics, management, agri--cultime and a host of other disciplines. The important part of system analysis is optimization technique which are also known as mathematical programming techniques which includes linear programming, Dynamic Programming as well as Non-linear pro-gramming. The Subansiri Dam Project, a proposed project of N-,E-. Ii ia, being considered as a case study. The project envisages construction of a 257 metre high rockf ill dam over river Subansiri, a tributary to the mighty Brahmaputra. The proposed gross storage of the Reservoir is 1340 Thousand Hoct. Metre (T.H.M, . The top priority is given in power generation and `'lood control. The proposed project will have a hydropower installed capacity of 4$00 MW. The firm capacity at 100 percent load factor is 1789 MW. In the Project Report, Irrigation is considered as Lumped-. In this study other than J ped irrigation three types of cropping pattern are also adopted. After constr-uction of the dam the Subansiri basin will be completely free from flood-. Linear Programming has been used as a screening model in order to regulate monthly flows at 90 percent availability. The results of linear programming pare further modified by Simulation technique'. | en_US |
