The study has been dealt with interpolation and plott-ing of isohyetal points by the computer Further analysis with the computation of the average depth of precipitation over the catchment by the available methods and subsequently the analysis of the Depth-Area-Duration. An important part of the study and interpretation of rainfall records is the preparation of isohyetal maps. Such maps, showing lines of equal depth of rainfall, may be pre-pared for the total storm rainfall, for rainfall during selected time intervals within the storm, or for rainfall accumulated from a number of storms over a specified period of time such as a month, a season, or. a year. Manual preparation of isohyetal maps is tedious, time consuming, and subjective , For this som9 computer programs for the preparation an(3 plotting of isohyetal points are available. The computer programme in its present form can prepare a map of icohyetal points for networks composed of upto 200 rain-gauging stations. The number of interpolated isohyetal point generated. by the programme can be upto 3,000 minus the number of rain-gauging stations for which coordinates are given. This number allows an average number of at least 14 interpolated points for each rain-gauging station.en_US
