Abstract: A numerical scheme has been developed for computerassisted analysis of test pumping data. The scheme is based upon constrained minimisation of the ;* of the s+ uare of deviations of computed drawdowns from the observed drawdowns. The scheme incorporates numerical evaluation of well functions for calculating 'computed drawdowns' for the trial values of aquifer parametres. Minimisation is carried out by SUMT csegvential un4onstratned minimisation Technique). A of test of significance has been proposed to ascertain leakiness of a leaky comfined aquifer. The proposed n thodology has been applied to published test pumping data of confined and leaky confined aquifers with fully penetrating pumping wells and of a confined qgt #.fjV With p rttal .y petating Pel l t ng weJ, The Pesul%s 9k Deno l agVee closely With the Teported rosult4 4th: give as gQQd ;q1 Vod Qt ,Qn of 'k .
