Unsteady flow to large dimater well has been analysed by Papadopulos and Cooper. The analysis involves numerical integre-tion of improper integral, which involves Besselts function. Since the Bessel function fluctuates with positive and negative values the numerical integration takes lot of computer time. A modal has been proposed here which make use of discrete kernel theory. The well function at the well face and at points in the aquifer away from the well face have been evaluated. The well function at the well face has been compared with that of the result given by Pppadopulos and Cooper. In the second part oa. the thesis flow to partially pene-trating well has been analysed, The drawdown at the well face has been obtained for different percentage of screening. The results for 99 percentage of screening have been compared with Theis results for fully penetrating well. The results will be useful for arriving at the economical design of well.en_US
