A STUDY OF SEVERE RAINSTORMS OVER NORTHWEST UTTAR PRADESH

Abstract

In this dissertation, the ::Zeteor_olo ical situations associated with severe rainstorrs over northwest Uttar Pradesh have been studied and reviewd by considering the cases of six severe:.lost rajnstcr: s that occured during the period of about ninety years, The hydro:_aeteorological analyses have also been carried out for all those rainstor:.is and the results are presented. The :iaxi::lu:.i 24-hour rainfall values for different return periods have also been co:1puted for different stations of northwest Uttar Pradesh by using the annual series of extrene rainfall events, and the naps have been prepared for t he region.
