Title: MODELLING OF RAINFALL RUNOFF PROCESS OF A SMALL CATCHMENT

Issue Date: 1979
Abstract: The process of conversion of rainfall excess into direct runoff has been studied using two modelling approaches. The translation effect and areal non-uniformity of rainfall has been consided by dividing the catchment into subareas by means of isochrones. In the first approach, the storage effect has been simulated by translation coefficients which subdivide the excess rainfall generated over a subarea dur-ing a particular time interval. In the second approach, hydrologic routing of Muskingum type has been used to simulate the storage effect. The performance of model in simulating observed runoff for a small catchment is better in case of second approach.
