Abstract: Development of operation plan, for reservoir operation, is the analysis of factors like the effects of combinations of stream-flows, storage-levels and water requirements. Such an analyses demonstrates the feasibility of a water resources projects, which depends upon the ability of a proposed project to serve the require-ment purposes. The conventional method of developing a rule curve by mass-curve analysis is based on the criteria of critical year's stream-flow and the accumulation, in reverse order of time, of the defi-ciency between irrigation requircn.ents and available strearnflow during the chosen critical period. Sometimes near critical years atongwith most critical flows are analysed separately and an enve-loping rule curve is obtained. Instead, in this study, an attempt has been made to develope a rule curve detailed operation studies of reservoir for a longer period as usually done in the working tables of a project report. Bor Irrigation reservoir, in Wardha district of Vidarbha Region of Maharashtra State is chosen for the above study. The 10 yr: available streamfiow data was synthetically extended to 50 fears by sequential generation using Thomas-Fiering model and data were used in the operation studies. IBM-370/145 computer was used for the comput ation.
