Abstract: The aim of this thesis is twofol . The first is determination of effective long run incremental charging methodology of distribution network pricing and its application with (Distributed Generation) DGs present in the system. A new charging index called the 'capacity relief factor' is also introduced in order to quantify the benefits which system gain in the event of capacity crisis or congestion. Secondly a pricing model is introduced which is based on quantification of -bus voltage and power factor variations to reflect the system operation -costs in maintaining supply quality, assuring bus voltages to, be in limits, which in turn minimizes the system losses. A four-level charging function is formulated for dynamic network charging. A composite model of charging distribution networks is proposed in the thesis. The presented approach is a four tier model in which long-run incremental cost (LRIC/LRMC) pricing is used to determine the forward looking system reinforcement charges. The combined formulation of dynamic charging with incremental charging provides an increased revenue recovery and balance between long and short term goals of distribution network planning.
