dc.description.abstract | To increase power transfer capability, voltage stability and dynamic stability of the existing transmission system, Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) is used. The shunt type of FACTS controller is used to either absorb or inject reactive power into the system and provides appropriate reactive power compensation. In this work design, and simulation of static voltage compensation consisting of FC-TCR (Fixed Capacitor-Thyristor Controlled Reactor) is done. A reduced model has been prepared for long transmission line and FC-TCR, for demonstration and experimental point of view. Control system and firing circuit of FC-TCR hardware implemented through the 8085 microprocessor. | en_US |
