Abstract: Air heater wherein the air flows inside a duct where bottom/top surface is heated at constants heat flux has got widespread applications specially in solar air heaters whose bottom/top surface is the absorber plate. Since the heat transfer coefficient between the -ated plate and the air is low, a research is going on to enhance this heat transfer efficient. In the present work experimental investigations have been made to study the heat ►sfer from this bottom plate of the duct to the following air. A plain and a corrugated om plate have been selected for this work. These plates were maintained at constant t flux by heating them resistively by applying a high current to these plates through a -down transformer. The effects of mass flow rate and heat flux on the heat transfer fficient have been studied. Heat transfer coefficient in case of using bottom corrugated -t was found to be much higher than that of the plain sheet. Also, correlations have been developed for both the cases.
