dc.description.abstract | These dissertation works describe two different approaches for the distribution system reliability calculation. First method explains the basic cut - set method to evaluate the reliability of radial distribution system. The same method is then extended to consider the impact of DG on the reliability of the distribution system. In the first method we have consider three cases i.e. without DG, DG as a substation and then DG as a conventional distribution system. When we considered the distributed generation as a substation type we consider its reliability as one but as a conventional station we have calculated the reliability of distributed generation using a probabilistic approach. The second approach is very similar to the first approach but this approach also considers the uncertainty in the distribution system reliability parameters such as failure rate, repair time and unavailability. As in this approach we considered the uncertainty in the basic reliability parameters, the results also shows the uncertainty in all the load point indices. This approach simultaneously and effectively considers the affect of uncertainty in the input parameters of the distribution system. So finally we will be able to consider the impact of DG on the distribution system reliability with the uncertainty inclusion. | en_US |
