Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: A production planning and inventory control scheme for a power transformer industry has been developed . The power transformer industry is assumed to have a department for the purpose and enough resources to invest on a computerized system . A priority planning scheme for the transformer industry scheme has also been developed .Software has been developed for this purpose .Beginning with a tentative master production scheme , requirement of materials at the different stages of production can be determined for the particular order being executed using the software .The software developed is capable of accepting new production schedules and doing MRP all over again .The schedule of activities has been developed using the timing requirements of an actual transformer industry•.The software for the project was developed using dBASE III PLUS and CLIPPER Ver 5.01.The material requirements output by the program were obtained from design examples used in the industry and transformer drawings
