Abstract: The sloshing behavior of liquid that is water in a horizontally moving rigid rectangular container with unsymmetric excitation is studied experimentally. The overall response with excitation frequency is studied. Containers with one, two ,)ad tie compartments have been considered. In addition, containers with one two and three horizontal cloth membranes have been studied. Membranes are installed in different compartments horizontally. These are placed at a certain depth. Several depths of liquid and different size of compartments have been considered. The excitation is provided unsymmetrically at several different angles with reference to the plane of symmetry at an interval of 150 starting from 00 to 900. The overall force response for the open container is largest for 9= 90° . It has been found that compartmentalization of the container with and without cloth membranes provides smaller force responses. iii
