Title: PARAMETRIC STUDIES ON SEISMIC ANALYSIS OF WELL FOUNDATION WITH SCOUR PROBLEMS
Authors: Yadava, Krishna Mohan
Keywords: EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING;SEISMIC ANALYSIS;WELL FOUNDATION;SCOUR PROBLEMS
Issue Date: 1988
Abstract: Well foundations are most popular foundations for bridges in India. Safe and economical design of earthquake resistant design of well foundation is very important. The scour around the bridge foundation has a significant influence on the design of well foundation, The state of art indicates that it is possible to check the scour around wells by placing suitable riprap. Gupta (1987) has reported that use of bed protective riprap is useful in view of significant reduction of the depth of well foundation. He has studied the effect of various parameters on the depth of foundation only. Therefore, this investigation is carried out to examine various aspects of the mechanics of well foundation with and without bed protection and to identify significant factors governing the design of well foundation,..
