Title: INFILL PANELS: THEIR INFLUENCE ON EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE OF BUILDINGS
Authors: Sohrabi, Farukh
Keywords: EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING;EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE;BUILDINGS;SOIL STRUCTURE INTERACTION
Issue Date: 1988
Abstract: The influence of filler wall on seismic response of building frames in which the wall is replaced by an equivalent single diagonal strut. has been studied with and without soil structure interaction. Based on above study a relation between the time period of infilled Frames with the number of storeys is proposed. The influence of centrally located opening on the seismic response of infilled frame has also been studied.. The conLribut:ion of infill reduced significantly the time period of the structure. The shear force and bending moment._xn almost all the members of the composite system are also reduced.
