Whenever a dynamic solution of large size problem is required, as analyst faces the problem of excessive computer memory and computer time. In this thesis, the various methods such as direct integration, mode superposition, superposition of Ritz vectors, reduction method (master-slave method) 'are reviewed and investigated. The computer codes have been develiped for all the above methods.. The refinements in the various operations such as preprocessing, optimum storage consideration, automatic data generation, etc.are also studied. On the basis of the investi-gation, using the actual problems of different sizes the merits and demerits of each solution technique has been enlisted. Based on this study,a faster method is proposed based on the combination of above methods (superposition of Ritz vectors and mode super position method).en_US
