dc.description.abstractSurface active agents, or commonly known as surfactants, are the materials that exhibit, significant surface activity, i.e., they cause drastic decrease in interfacial tension of solvents even when present in extremely low concentrations. This decrease in interfacial tension of solvents on dissolving surfactants is due to the adsorption and orientation of surfactant molecules at the interface. The tendency of the surfactants to be adsorbed at interfaces in due to their amphipathic structure05, i.e., the occurrence in a single molecule or ion, with a suitable degree of separation, of one or more groups which have affinity (sympathy) for the phase in which the molecule or ion is dissolved, together vith one or more groups which are antipathetic to the medium ..................en_US
