Abstract: The Frame-Shear wall Interaction is of utmost importance in Frame-Shear wall multistorey buildings when these are subjected to Earthquake ground motion. The load shared by frame as well as by shear wall is affected by their interaction. The building is idealized to the sys tan of a single bay frame and a single shejr wall which are connected by rigid hinged links at floor levels. The dynamic analysis in this investigation t is based on 'Influence Co-efficient Approach'. The 15 storeyed typical Frame-Shear wall buildings are considered for dynamic response ccrnputation. Three modes of vibration 4 are considered. The damping is assumed to be 5 % of critical and spectrum technique is used to evaluate dynamic response. The t iioot of sum of Square' combination is used for.canbination of modes. The effects of shear deformations of shear wall, reduction in height of shear wall, mass distribution along height, mass distribution between frame and shear wall, rati o of column to beam stiffness, ratio of shear wall to column stiffness and variation in stiffness of beam, column and shear wall al on g height on dyn ani c response is studied extensively. The dynamic force distribution along the height on shear wall building is found to depart much from that given in IS:1893.
