Title: PHYSICO-CHEMICAL STUDIES OF METAL COMPLEXES WITH SULPHOPHTHALEIN DYES
Authors: Sharma, Anita
Keywords: CHEMISTRY;PHYSICO-CHEMICAL STUDIES;METAL COMPLEXES;SULPHOPHTHALEIN DYES
Issue Date: 1980
Abstract: The work embodied in this thesis is on the interaction of Jd transition metal ions with some sulphophthalein dyes. The dyes are Xylenol orange (XO), Methylthymol blue (MTB), Pyrocatechol Violet (PV) and Pyrogallol red (PGR). The studies aim at investigating the nature, structure and stability of the complexes of bivalent transition metal ions with dyes as ligands. A major portion is devoted to their thermodynamical studies. The mixed ligand complexes of cobalt(II) with XO and PV as primary and some amino acids as secondary ligands were prepared in the pure crystalline form, analysed chemically and their structures determined on the basis of electronic spectra, I.R studies, conductance and magnetic measurements.............
