Title: STUDIES ON REPAIR WELDING OF RESISTANCE SPOT WELD OF STEEL SHEET BY FURTHER USE OF RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING IN THE VICINITY OF PREVIOUS WELD JOINT
Authors: Patel, Vinay Kumar
Keywords: MECHANICAL INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING;STEEL SHEET;RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING;PREVIOUS WELD JOINT
Issue Date: 2001
Abstract: The optimized spot weld has been found to have higher load carrying capacity, strength and fatigue properties than the spot weld prepared at AWS recommended parameter. The load carrying capacity, electrode indentation and hardness of repair spot weld has been found to be higher than the optimized spot weld but the strength of repair spot weld has been found to be lower than that of the optimized spot weld. The columnar structure of weld nugget and grain size in HAZ of repair spot weld has been found to be refined in comparison to those of the optimized spot weld
