Abstract: Green sand moulding process produces by far the largest quantity of castings, whatever the metal poured into sand moulds. Among the sand casting processes, moulding is often done with green sand because of its greater flexibility as a production process, and least costly method of moulding. The important ingredients of green sand moulding process.are silica sand, clay and water. Around 60% of the sand aggregate goes as waste after the casting solidification. Flyash, a waste form boiler is used in green sand moulding. Process. The use of flyash reduces the cost and on the other hand it improves the solidification rate. The present work is aimed to visualize the effect of tivash addition on the dimensional and surface properties of Al - 7% Si alloy castings. produced by green sand moulding process. In order to achieve the above objective the experiment works carried out by using L27 (313) OA in sand mould containing flyash and the analysis is based on Taguchi Technique
